PUBLIC WORKS Chris got the campground all blown out and shut down. Rented the compressor from Ripley’s because the one from Ellsworth broke down on us and almost caught on fire. So, thinking we will just use Ripley’s from now on. Newt did some damage to the parking lot down at the campground and they fixed it. They never used our ramp they built their own with gravel. Newt is still working out on the Island. Katrina cut is supposed to be open now. Brennen pulled all their trailers out from the ponds. Currently Newt still has several there. They came to fix the little blower at the ponds today. Put the new seal on and realize that the cooling fan is shot and that’s like $1000.00 to fix. It’s big and a special fan that kicks on before the blower turns on. So, nothing that can just be purchased at a local store. The warranty was up 3 months ago. We alternate the pumps weekly. Still looking for someone to fix the sampler in the lift station. When I was doing my Wisler reading this year, I realized that the road behind the Village Hall doesn’t have a name. If we name that Alleyway and the roads up in the cemetery that adds to our total milage for the village. Chris suggests an informal ballot during elections. There has been a guy taking loads of wood from the dump area. He will also take some from the ballfield. The playground equipment at the dump we would like to get rid of. We would like to take it to Hines auctions or see if it could be used at the campground or even to see if Andy Bennett would like to use it up in the trailer park. We don’t know if we will be able to put up the Christmas lights this year. Xcel will have to send someone out to inspect the poles and approve them. I don’t think the wiring will pass their inspection. We will have to see what they say about the flags. Jeff is retiring in about 5 months, I think we should start looking for his replacement. The last mow of the season the zero turn broke down. The plastic pulley broke so they upgraded it with a metal one. Since he had it, he just went ahead and winterized it and changed the oil, fuel filter and other stuff for $300.00. Chris talked about a conference being held February 10-11. At this time, we will discuss that for next month’s meeting.
